Combinations will secure their invitation to the Final via their performances at nominated events scheduled throughout the year and designated as either an “Invitational” event (securing an automatic invitation to the Final) or a “Wildcard” event.
The “Wildcard” pathway may result in invitations for combinations who complete performances which Dressage Western Australia sees as of an appropriate standard at targeted competitions. By way of information – the required performance standard will be in line with the following:
Preliminary and Novice -> 70% & above
Elementary -> 69% & above
Medium -> 67% & above
Advanced -> 66% & above
Please note the following criteria:
It is a combination that secures the invitation to the Final; Although it is possible that a combination may secure an invitation to the Final across more than 2 levels, it will only be open to the combination to accept the invitation and compete at the Final across 2 successive levels (as per the ADR).
A place at the Invitational will only be secured if scores at the relevant nominated event are achieved of 63% (for Preliminary and Novice), 61% (for Elementary) and 60% (for Medium and Advanced).
Competitor Horse Classes Save for Invitational Event 10, the winner (or the next placegetter who has not yet secured an invite to the Final) of the highest level class offered at the nominated Invitational event will secure an invite to the Invitational Final for 2023.
Both tests (excluding freestyles) at each level of the 2023 WA State Dressage Championships will secure invites to the Invitational Final 2023 for the top 3 combinations (who have yet to be invited to the Final).
Entry fees for the Invitational will be $55 plus levies.
Competitor Pony Classes Dressage Western Australia encourages each nominated Invitational and Wildcard event to offer pony classes in their schedule and, assuming that they are offered, the winner (or the next unqualified placegetter) of the highest level class offered will secure the invite to the Invitational Final for 2023, save for Invitational Events 2 and 10 .
Both tests at each level of the 2023 Dressage WA Hygain Pony Dressage Showcase – Invitational Event 2 – and the 2023 WA State Dressage Championships – Invitational Event 10 – will secure invites for the top 2 uninvited combinations at Invitational Event 2 and for the top 3 at Invitational Event 10.
Entry fees will be $55 plus levies.
FEI Classes There will no qualification criteria and entries will be accepted from all competitors at these levels (subject to relevant EA and FEI criteria). The following levels with be offered:
Prix St George
Inter I
Intermediate A
Grand Prix
Entry Fees will be $77 plus levies
Freestyles Freestyles will be offered during the course of the Event which will be open to all competitors (subject to EA and FEI rules). Freestyle classes will be offered from Elementary to Grand Prix. At this stage, the Freestyles will be scheduled to take place on the Sunday.
Entry fees will be $60.00 plus levies.
Para Equestrian will be included in the Schedule. There will be no qualification criteria and classes will advised in the Schedule to be published leading up to the Event following consultation with the Para Equestrian Committee.
